Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA)
This established volunteer organization provides free arts-related legal
assistance to thousands of emerging artists and art organizations throughout
the US in the areas of contracts law, copyright and trademark, housing
issues, small claims court advice and taxes. Contact them directly at

Circum.org
Circum-Arts is a not-for-profit, worldwide arts service organization with
the mission to assist, advocate and encourage performing artists and visual

National Association of Women Artists
The National Association of Women Artists, Inc. (N.A.W.A.) is a
not-for-profit, non-political, member-supported organization of women in the
fine arts, founded in 1889. N.A.W.A. seeks to foster artists who are women
and offers exhibition exposure and opportunities for sharing that special
communication inherent in art. For more information, check out their

Materials for the Arts
MFA provides surplus office equipment and supplies, furnishings, art
materials and other donated items to non-profit cultural organizations and
art programs free of charge. The City of New York, through the Department of
Cultural Affairs and Department of Sanitation, operates this program as a
service for the cultural community and finds new uses for materials that

The Aperture Foundation
The Aperture Foundation for photography and the visual arts is a non-profit organization that has supported artists for forty-eight years. Aperture publishes periodicals, books and limited edition portfolios in photography and produces exhibitions associated with major art institutions. It is also a resource for the study of photographic history. The foundation has an open review twice a year for publishing projects.
