Throughout history, many an artist has asked people to take off their clothes for art. But Spencer Tunick has taken that approach to new extremes.
Tunick's photographs show oceans of nude bodies sprawled out across all kinds of landscapes, from New York's Times Square to Los Angeles's Griffith Park Observatory, and countless places in-between. In fact, Tunick mounted a
national tour, staging photographs (and making friends) from coast to coast. |

Tunick advertises for models by placing cards around galleries and arty spots around town. He stages his photo shoots very early on a Sunday morning, when the fewest possible spectators will be around. After the
shoot, every participant is offered a signed print for his or her
participation. |
