PS1 and MoMA Join Forces

When New York's famously independent art center PS1 forged a partnership with The Museum of Modern Art last year, there was much speculation and debate as to what that "partnership" would mean for PS1.

Greater New York, an exhibition mounted at PS1 with the cooperation of MoMA, gave the art world its first clue. Multiple curators at both institutions scoured New York's five boroughs, as well as surrounding suburbs, to come up with more than 140 artists to include in their investigation of New Art in New York Now.

Most of the artists included in Greater New York are young, and many were virtually unknown--but not anymore.
