The Christmas season is upon us, and if you've got a fashion fan on your list, you may want to look into the work of young New York artist Tom Sachs, who gives unusual objects such as toilets, chainsaws and guillotines the high-end label treatment.
He also staged an event during the fashion shows in Paris last year that involved wrapping hamburgers in Prada and Chanel burger-wrappers, à la McDonald's. |
In addition to being funny, Sachs' work has something appropriately Christmasy to say about the rampant labelmongering and commercialization of just about everything these days. |
