Last week the roar of motorcycles could be heard in the streets of Bilbao, Spain as the incredible "Art of The Motorcycle" exhibit landed at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Frank O. Gehry, the world-renowned architect who also designed the spaceship-like museum, designed the creative exhibition installation.

But like any major art exhibition which travels from museum to museum, there are special precautions taken when it up and actually moves. Or rolls, in this case.

A team of special packing experts was brought in to execute the move, which took a total of four days. Each bike received its own special, custom-made wooden breakaway crate. Straps were installed on the bike in four points of contact, determined by weight and impact. And each bike was wrapped in a cotton diaper to avoid scratching. There were runners on both sides of the wheels and wooden chocks to keep them in places. The bikes were fully wrapped in plastics for further protection.

All the bikes were flown via Los Angeles to Frankfurt, where they were then trucked across to Bilbao.
