Ann Leibovitz is the painter of the month!

This month's featured artist, Ann Leibowitz, views the creative stigma of the universe as one with that of the individual human being. "The same forces that allow a seed to germinate and grow are part and parcel of the human condition." The organic patterns and palettes used to portray her biological subjects places the viewer eye-to-eye with the microscopic underpinnings of the natural forces around him.

  Marie-Louise McHugh:
Marie-Louise McHugh, a native of Bienne, Switzerland, joins PaintingsDirect.com with an interpretive and whimsical eye. Her symbolic scenes incorporate the purity of the nude and the wholesome presence of the pear. McHugh celebrates the connection of all things natural, biologically and spiritually, even manipulating our cliches and adages. There is no forbidden fruit----only an old friend that needs reintroduction..

  Ron Zajac
Ron Zajac adds a conceptual edge to PaintingsDirect.com. He baits the viewer with realistic renderings of silent figures in moments of contemplation. Yet beneath the cool scenes, he prompts a second glance with striking background elements, like an elephant, a pack of raging wolves, or an open book. So, before you leave one of Zajac's pieces, be sure to look twice.

  Peter Illig
Peter Illig adds an allegorical twist to PaintingsDirect.com with his seemingly normal narratives that transform our assumptions in everyday life into meaningful scenes that question our beliefs. His realistic techniques complement his abstract ideas about psychology and the media. He comments on the dynamic of human relationships, focussing on our desires and passions.

  T.R. Robertson
PaintingsDirect.com is pleased to announce the witty portraits of T.R. Robertson. Dogs don pearl necklaces, a cow screams out in angst, and stuffed bears whisper like devious siblings. Robertson's cunning use of personification allows the viewer to approach the problems of the human condition through seemingly harmless portraits of objects and animals. Come view the intriguing canvases of T.R. Robertson.

  Lorna J. Ritz:
PaintingsDirect.com presents Lorna Ritz, a painter currently residing in northern Massachusetts. Ritz's masterful use of color and keen observation of natural light are clearly revealed in her diverse portfolio of landscapes and colorful impressions of light. Her landscapes present the inevitable changes of nature in their most vibrant forms. She pays close attention to the hue of deep shadows and tints of sparkling lights reflected in the horizon. Her inspiration stretches from lightening storms to the season's changing air. Welcome the fall with the work of Lorna Ritz!
