Recent Additions

Biagio Civale
Biagio Civale continues to be a popular favorite PaintingsDIRECT artist with a breadth of artwork. In the span of many decades of work, the Italian born artist has produced a broad range of artwork in many media and styles – from human figure and abstracts to realist landscapes and seascapes. His work shows the influence of the masters. Civale studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Rome and has exhibited his work throughout the world.

Polly Griscom
Polly Griscom paints larger-than-life floral and plant life watercolors, employing many transparent washes seeking to achieve contrast and balance in the composition. The up close images and cropping of the flowers and plant leaves give the realist paintings an abstract feel. Griscom earned a bachelors of arts from Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design; she has exhibited her work in California and throughout New England.

Mark LaRiviere
Mark LaRiviere paints forms in the abstract that resemble human figures and other "land-based" objects, such as plants and rocks. LaRiviere cites as his influences impressionist and medieval Siennese painters who would often represent "sky" in gold, rather than blue tones. The artist earned a bachelors of arts from Parsons School of Design and a masters of fine arts from Swain School of Design.

  Warren Stenberg
Although largely inspired by the beautiful coastlines of Hawaii, the work of landscape artist Warren Stenberg captures the local energy of the places he visits – whether the peacefulness of a French village or the pleasing cacophony of a New York City street. Stenberg earned a bachelors of arts from University of Hawaii and has exhibited his work in his home state of Hawaii.

  Yvonne Maree Thomas-John
Australian born Yvonne Maree Thomas-John has had a passion for art since her childhood. Thomas-John’s art reflects a myriad of life experiences from her upbringing in Australia to her relocation to the northwest United States. Through her artwork Thomas-John explores life’s extremes and the mysteries of life and death, male and female light and dark, destruction and rebirth. The artist has exhibited her artwork in four continents.

  Rustam Yaushev
The expressionist and impressionist landscapes of Rustam Yaushev are reminiscent of the beauty and artistry of Europe’s cultural past. Born in Uzbekistan, the artist studied at the Moscow Art Institute and went on to become chairman of the Easel Painting Association, member of the Russian Academy of Art and a director of Krasnoyarsk Art Institute.
