Cheryl Holz Topographical maps and butterflies are just a few of the subjects Cheryl Holz finds inspiring. A childhood curiosity evolved into a career dedicated to exploring the natural world. "I grew up in a rural area, and spent a great deal of time tramping through forest and field, collecting moss, bugs and leaves, and to my mother's chagrin, snakes and salamanders." Holz has exhibited her work in several museums throughout the United States, such as the Davenport Museum of Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Illinois State Museum Art Gallery. |

Jackie Ritke Jackie Ritke's narrative scenes are a stage for her imagination. Universal peace, self-esteem and environmental awareness are just a few of the topics that Ritke approaches. "I find interactions between people, dreams, and personal stories fascinating. I take all these ingredients and throw them into a fabricated theme." Ritke studied at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and has exhibited her work prolifically throughout Wisconsin.

William Mathews William Mathews' landscape paintings and portraits of women can be described as "built" rather than painted. The artist's free-flowing brushwork and thick layers of paint distort recognizable renditions of nudes and interior scenes into abstract compositions of shape and form. Mathews studied at Yale University and has exhibited his work in Connecticut and New York.

Catherine Ramey Catherine Ramey sees natural imagery, especially flowers in her own garden, as a means for psychological communication. "I recall moments of clarity and emotional response, and then the paint takes over. In the end, these pieces are a record of the journey." Afternoon daylight and long country roads are also sources of inspiration for the artist. Ramey received her BFA from Florida State University and has exhibited her work throughout New York City. |
