Introducing this week's new PaintingsDIRECT.com artists.
  Helen Lurye
Helen Lurye unfolds "the indescribable beauty and mystery" of our planet on the raised surfaces of her acrylic paintings. Deep blue and orange backgrounds set a tranquil tone in each sunset and still-life. Lurye was born in Moscow, and studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Winchester School of Art. She has exhibited her work throughout the East Coast.

  Henry Pelissier
A bizarre event from Henry Pelissier's early years inspired a body of work full of the rhythm and sun-drenched color of the Caribbean. "I draw the subjects for my paintings from dreams or memories of certain events in my life. Some of those events are so strong that I can still picture the slightest details." Full-figured dancers and acrobats in white and yellow outfits move and stretch through Pelissier's canvases. Pelissier studied at the Institut Superieur Technic in Haiti, and has exhibited his work in Florida.

  Audrey Hall
For Audrey Hall, the interior of a room or a cupboard is a map of the unconscious. "The open doorways and closed doorways lead your mind to secrets of the past that you want to uncover." Hall studied at the School of Visual Arts and the Cooper Union in Manhattan, and has exhibited her work throughout New York, including shows at the Katonah Gallery Museum and the National Academy of Design.
