Gaby Kubler French painter Gaby Kubler believes that the artistic elements of color and form are capable of communicating human emotions. Emphatic brushstrokes and a minimal palette of grays, reds and blacks are what the artist uses to transcribe the varying intensity in music, from "jubilation" to "destruction." "Sometimes the world of the living is veiled; I bring it to light." Kubler studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, and has exhibited her work throughout France. |

Evelina Brozgul Time is the essence of Evelina Brozgul’s architectural paintings on wood. Layers of imagery of archways and bridges create abstract representations of Renaissance structures. Glazes of tempera "veil" the scenes since our memory is only a partial recreation of the reality we experienced. “In my work, I wish to remember and recreate my own fragments, reinterpreting them as I am inclined and informed by my emotions.” Brozgul received her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, and she is a grant recipient from the Joan Mitchell Foundation this year.

Edward Coppola
"A house can be seen as a symbol of, or stand-in for, its human inhabitants,” says photographer Edward Coppola. Streets and residences in Brooklyn, New York attract the artist’s keen eye. “These photographs walk a thin line between an appreciation of documentation and description, and a visual enjoyment of the formal qualities of two-dimensional design.” Coppola received his MFA from Brooklyn College, and has exhibited his works in Manhattan.

Nancy Houston Nancy Houston takes the patterns that we live with every day and translates them into imaginary narratives, forcing us to look closer at the stripes, animal prints and flower patterns of our wardrobes and to see symbolic meaning in them. “These basic, fundamental shapes, often so simple they are overlooked, contain a vast array of messages and emotions.” Houston studied at the Firedrake Fine Arts Studio in Maryland.

Jim Bergesen
Jim Bergesen’s organic, abstract paintings evoke a surreal experience of color and space. Kaleidoscopic compositions blend reds, blues and yellows, intended to elicit meditation. The artist refers to spiritual subject matter for inspiration. “The most significant inspirations for my works have been Gothic cathedrals, bridges and spirals. In my work, I explore the concepts of spirituality, ritual, dance and battle.” Bergesen is receiving his MFA at The State University of New York at Purchase, and has exhibited his works in Manhattan.
