"My process is about seeking variety and surprise. By employing a range of tools such as rope, flower pods, knives, my hands, as well as brushes, I hope to avoid repetition and predictable mark making. I choose color intuitively from my internal file of images and memories.

I am interested in everyday contradictions such as dimly lit stillness and big loud music; the freedom of the ocean and the density of urban life; obscure humor and straight up, routine news.

The unpredictability of each day informs and nourishes my work."
