"I have painted on and off since 1966. Most of my work has been in the "hard-edge" style. This is a very deliberate, time-consuming technique not used by many artists. Intricate taping and sealing of each drawn space is tedious, and it also takes time to properly blend the paints within that space, no matter how small. Even the cat whiskers are first taped and sealed. It's kind of like making a mosaic. One work typically takes thirty or forty hours to paint, thus I don't produce many paintings over time."
