Born in 1931 in New York, NY, USA

1948, High School of Music and Art

1952, Sarah Lawrence College

"My work is watercolor on paper or acrylic on canvas using a variety of techniques in an attempt to catch the bounce and movement of light.

Weaving: woven pictures are made from two similar paintings of the same subject. One is cut up vertically and the other horizontally. They are then woven together into a single picture.

Woven Mosaics: a woven mosaic starts with a woven picture; it becomes two pictures; the woven picture is cut at the intersections of the woven strips, then the top layer is lifted off (it is the first mosaic painting) leaving the bottom,(the second mosaic painting).

Strip Collage: done in one of two ways, sometimes one painting is cut in strips and these strips become the elements of collage. Other times two different strip paintings are cut into strips and attached to the mount using alternate strips from the first and second paintings."
