"The work can be seen as a map of the artist’s emotional state as the work is being made. It is not a literal description of a place but a feeling of a place and how one is affected by that environment.

The paintings are made in a non-self conscious space where things are allowed to happen, to come into being. This allows me to be open to occurances that I have no control over. This approach to art-making is one shared by children and untrained artists. My process is linked to theirs on intent level, it comes from a similar impulse."
