Born in 1935 in Rome, Italy

1958, Fine Arts Academy, Rome, Italy

1953, Grande Chaumiere, Paris, France

"Over three hundred art critics have interpreted my work and I particularly concur with some of their words: "From the very beginning of his career he has retained his independence as an artist, showing people and situations as they are . . .He remains independent of the controversies and the changes in art . . .He constantly appears to show those precious moments when we are temporarily able to step off the treadmill of life to appreciate the harmony and peace of that result from togetherness, love, relaxation, and the invigorating contact with nature. . .(Krishna Reddy)" . . ."If we had to do a screening of his artwork, we could use a Cartesian diagram where cities and towns all over the world(with their problems, their panoramas, their human features) are in abscissa, and in the ordinate are his deep culture and knowledge of the various art cycles and the avant-garde movements. For each of his works, at the intersection of the axis, we could find that piece and only that. This simply means that Civale's art has already acquired a wide international flair, from his ability to observe under a positive light the human scenario, with his contradictions and his light and shadowy spots, but always without rhetoric. . .(Francesco Gurrieri)."
