"I paint because I want veils of color to envelop the viewer and the environment."

"In these paintings, colors float and expand on the wall - more like stages of intense chromatic metamorphosis, ethereal and paradoxically vivid. The surfaces are veils of color soft and glowing, expanding horizontally and vertically - a rectangle losing its perimeters. On close view, the surface is deliberately matte and opaque forcing the viewer to stand back and experience chromatic expansion. Thus the paintings are not meant to be seen intimately. They demand a slightly distant view so that the veils of color can envelop the viewer and the environment."
