" Hubert Damon shares with us his youth in the Val de Loire (France). To express through an artwork, what one's deep feelings are is what being an artist is about. That's also true for abstract painters. Their inspiration is not abstract: it comes from impressions, memories, objects and lively creatures.
Damon is not an abstract painter. The most tender memories as well as the most violent feelings are translated in his paintings by assertive lines and colors from a large palette...

When looking at Damon's paintings you feel hapiness, tenderness but also a certain existential anguish and hope: it is a memorable experience."

Henry Mouray, Dean of the University Francois Rabelais in Tours, France, 1997
