"I was first exposed to art, and particularly landscape art, in France while serving in the Army in the early 1950s. Every village, every church, every hayfield seemed paintable, so I plunged into painting as an avocation. Over many years, I have honed my ability by painting landscapes in rural Pennsylvania and seascapes in Cape Cod, and now Florida
The objective of my work is to capture beauty and a moment in time using color, light, and atmosphere. I strive to paint subjects that capture and hold the viewer's eye."
Donald Davis, October 2000
