"I begin each painting from life, and at some point in the process, I eventually work with no real reference. Real takes on fantasy, and serious mingles with humor. Images from the present, scientific drawings, pop culture, primitive icons, animals, mythology, dance, fairytales, nature, theatre and current events are combined with pattern, composition, and texture. My paintings are the knitting, weaving, and layering of memories remembered, but not forgotten. Dreams and imagination turn into manipulated images. With this process, I am creating a metaphor for life itself.quot;
