" If you have something to say, you can paint anything from reality.
If there is enough of interior life you can paint something unique."

Extract of "Conversations with Jacques Flacher" by F. Pansu, 1993

" For me only the essential matters, what is hidden behind the links of things between each others, forms, colours, finally harmony. There is somewhere a mystery, bare from any anecdote, something that will make the artwork survive despite its weaknesses, because eyes will keep asking, looking for what is hidden behind.
For me nothing can replace feelings in the act of painting, no skill, no clever technique."

Jacques Flacher, in "Revue Resonance", 1984

" Jacques Flacher was spotted rapidly by the French critics as a promising representant of the "Lyonnaise School".
He is interested in what follows impressionism and nabis. His work translates with tenderness and a sense of modesty the emotion felt in front of a still-life or a landscape. There is often a discreet light, which is not unrelated to the work of Truphemus. Sometimes it looks like everything is melting, floating around."

Extract from Jean-Jacques Lerrant, January 1977

" In the work of Jacques Flacher, there is this singular light that seems to come from the light of the day. It actually owes its lightning tonality to a fragile balance of lines and drawings.
You will find here some watercolours and oils that all contain an amazing awakening ability."

Extract from D. Poncet in "Le Progres" newspaper, December 1991
