"I love observing nature - the lights, darks, shadows and the color. My paintings are my reaction to light and color in the atmosphere, as it relates to the seascape and landscape of the East Coast and especially Cape Ann. Nature is my inspiration. I respond spontaneously to the affects of sunlight and shadow, challenging myself to create accurate levels of atmospheric perspective, relating the closeness and distance of all that I see.

Today my pallet consists mainly of primary colors, with an earth tone mixed in, which I find lend themselves to light and airy paintings. Excitement in the wonderful vibrations of light and clean color can be easily created by the use of simple primaries."
