"While working outdoors may have its share of difficulties due to weather conditions and the like, he believes this is the only way to 'capture the moment.' This is not possible when working from photographs in a studio.
Mr. Haber is interested in capturing the mood of the scene rather than striving for every detail. 'It is only possible to convey such spontaneous and powerful scenes if the painter himself is present,' he said.
'Working outdoors I have to deal with the ever-changing light, wind, heat, cold, insects and the occasional stray dog or annoyed swan,' he offered. However, it appears these annoyances have paid off in his fresh and personal oil paintings.
The artist prefers working in oils to any other kind of painting. 'Oil painting has more guts than any other medium. [The paintings] have more feeling to them,' he explained."
