"Kemp’s prints are quite lovely. In subject they recall the majestic vistas of the 19th-Century Hudson River School artists, although they are smaller in scale. Softly toned mountains recede into deep space. Flat, mirror-like lakes reflect the light of the sky and dark, sharply etched trees give definition to the foreground space. The soft-ground technique adds an ethereal, hazy atmosphere to what are already romantic themes."
