"I’ve always felt free to vary my subject matter, imagery, and technique to whatever my perception was at the time; ie, some landscapes beg for a sort of ‘neo’ neo-impressionist approach ala Charles Augrand or Henri DelaVallee’, so I might modify my oil painting technique for instance. Or when sketching the figure, I might approach the subject from my understanding and admiration of Jules Pascin."
