"After high school, I spent one year at the "Atelier Charpentier" in Montparnasse and two years at the "Métiers d’Art". Then I spent two years at the Beaux-Arts. I got married to the sculptor Chasse-Pot. In 1960, I stopped painting and began again in 1970.
Every time I do a new painting, I tell a story, mine or one from someone else. I use oil paint. Painting doesn’t need a lot of talk. I was very lucky to have been able to stop painting for ten years. When I began again, I pretended I never learned. In 1958, when I was studying at the Beaux-Arts, we were still copying Delacroix. Of course, in 1968 with the revolution of the students, everything changed.
When I start a new painting, I never know in advance what I am going to do. The painting evolves with pictorial problems. For instance, in "Adam and Eve", I didn’t know what to do with the hands, so I replaced them with apples."

Liseran, November 1999

"Liseran is surely the most private person I know; an "inner person". Proud or excessive sense of modesty, I don’t know, however I know that all the people who know her - and feel these things - know that she is "very" kindhearted, take my sculptor’s word for it! Liseran paints; and paints as she is. So that we can’t prevent ourselves from also loving her painting. And, as when we love, we want to own, all of her friends "own;" some of her paintings.
Here is what I wanted to say. Today, she agrees to show her paintings to the public. If there are any eyes to see (and I am sure there are) , I am delighted in advance of this exhibition."
