"I draw to create something that myself and others can relate to and feel."

"My drawings are about form and light. The form in my drawings is the human form. The contours and shapes of the body can come together in a drawing to create something that is beautiful, sensitive, and moving. There is no subject for an artist more expressive than the figure. From the overall pose down to the details of the facial expression, eyes, and hand gestures, a drawing of a person can describe any feeling or emotion easily and powerfully. It is a subject that a person can easily and deeply relate to."

"Light enhances form, and I take this idea to an extreme by using a bright, direct light source that creates deep, rich shadows and vivid highlights. These lights and darks, as well as the contrast created when they are juxtaposed give an image great visual excitement and energy."
