Born in 1942 in Harrisburg, PA, United States

1964, BS in Art Education, Pennsylvania State University
1974, study of silversmithing and painting, Oswego State University

"As a result of my postgraduate studies in silversmithing and painting, my style of work reflects my enthusiasm for both the stylized design elements and the three-dimensional, illusionistic rendering inherent in the realistic drawing and painting styles.

I work in two separate mediums - colored pencil renderings and shaded, layered paper collage - to create works ranging from abstracted landscapes to non-representational designs, which are fractured to resemble colorful, kaleidoscopic patterns. Each subject is done as a series - one in colored pencil and the other in collage which is generally modified in either color or fracturing. The colored pencil renderings are shaded to impart a shimmering, luminous quality, and the collages are constructed with 4 to 15 layers of colored paper that are shaded with colored pencils to enhance the dimensional quality of the work.

I have been an art teacher in the New York public educational system for many years and have exhibited my work in one solo show and several group shows in upstate New York and New York City. I received my undergraduate degree in Art Education from Penn State University and did my postgraduate work at SUNY Oswego. I was inducted into Delta Kappa Gamma, thrice named to Who’s Who of American Teachers, and selected for inclusion in the 20th edition of Who’s Who of American Women."
