" In the twenty years I have spent as an artist, I have always tried to develop techniques that are unique and distinctive. I prefer to make all of my pieces myself instead of mass producing them. I have always enjoyed the performing arts. Most of my subjects, like my work, have the ability to convey a feeling only by watching them.

This is the essence of the visual arts."

" Nemes continues developing new and unusual techniques. His love of the performing arts is evidenced in his current works. Ballet is one of his favorites. He considers the paintings of his Ballet Suite to be part anatomical study (the originals were done as nudes), and part the embodiment of artistic impression. Working closely with a prima ballerina, he strives to assure that the subject's form is artistically correct. The ballet scenes are done in black and white to give them a photographic effect and make the presentation more dramatic."

Nemes expanded the range of his popular "Ballet" work to include a suite of paintings on Charlie Chaplin, and another based on circus themes, which includes famous European clowns and mimes. The Circus paintings are unique because of their lavish use of color. The combination of the relief effect, shading and vibrant colors proved quite popular, especially in Italy. So much so that in 1996 Nemes opened a studio in Udine, Italy.
