"For me, painting is a form of meditation. I become so engrossed in what I知 doing, worldly cares seem to fade away. I also enjoy listening to music when I paint, especially soft jazz.
During the nice weather while I知 painting on location, I take many slides and videos of subjects that interest me and then use them later for inspiration in my studio. Sometimes, when I知 lost for inspiration, I値l go through my file of completed paintings, and after awhile I always find something that sparks my interest. I tend to paint in series.
When I first began to paint, about 25 years ago, I painted landscapes. Then I spent many years painting flowers. Rocks and surf interested me for awhile, and now I知 exploring the landscape once more in a totally different style using different paper and brighter colors.
Everyday I thank God for my gift. It is my desire to share it with others."
