"For three years, I have been living between Moscow and Paris. I started painting when
I was a kid. As you can see on my biography, I studied theatre, but I am a self-taught painter.
I preferred to learn on my own because the teaching during the Soviet period was too classic and alienating. I like the Flemish primitivisms from the 15th Century, such as Van Eyck, Bosh, Brueghel. They create their own world filled with intelligence and sensitivity.
Painting is vital to me. When I paint, I use my thoughts and emotions. The mental images that
come alive in my paintings are the result of my readings and personal research in art books."
