"I paint because I like to take something created from the mind and making it into something concrete that others can take in.

In this body of work I have two separate approaches. One is based on improvisation where a dialogue takes place with the work. As a painting begins to take shape it “tells me” what to do next. I become interested in investigating what kinds of painted realities (a reality existing only on a flat two-dimensional surface) can be created using only two basic elements, line and color.

The other approach involves a dialogue between computer-generated ideas and painted ideas, A painting may start as a computer generated concept or start as a painting that is scanned into the computer and then is reinterpreted as a painting. I use geometric and linear forms as a common language the two models of expression can easily share. The goal is to achieve something that is neither strictly computer art or strictly painting but rather organic hybrid of the two."
