"The thrill of a challenge always excites me, and somehow the fluidity and liquidity of watercolor guides me in conveying all the really beautiful things I choose to paint. There is a certain simplicity and yet elegant durability in watercolor that can’t be revealed when using other materials. It’s that transparency and luminescence watercolor offers when painting a still-life, figure, or landscape.

Recently I have concentrated on still-life, juxtaposing beautiful living things with well-designed man-made objects. Each compliments the other and yet has a life of its own. It is just this symbiotic relationship among all things that I am seeking to express in my paintings, all while trying to maintain the freshness of the moment that only watercolor can convey."
