"ON BASEBALL:
As an artist and former ball player in my youth, I've made a bond with baseball. What fascinated me as a boy were the picture cards of ball players from Brooklyn, New York, Chicago and Cincinnati posed against the advertising backdrops of their ballparks.

I built my own imaginary ballpark from my erector set and pasted my own advertisements on the walls. Years later, I have taken this same passion to my painting - searching for the feel of those faraway places and to hope that one day I might visit them.

ON GOLF:
I have always be partial to games that involve a club striking an object. I love baseball and ice hockey, which I follow actively as a fan. However, it is golf that I play. Golf is a game for life, a solitary and social game, a game of honor. It is an ancient game with a history and myth. A game that involves landscape and nature which makes it such a pleasure to paint."
