"My work is an exploration of brushed oil paint on canvas. The visual structures that I create are controlled chaos. The brushwork is fresh, vivid and resonates with movement and waves of energy. The layers of activity suggest simultaneous events, and the uniqueness of any given moment of time.

The viewer's experience of these paintings and drawings is influenced by the duration one spends with the work and the distance yields levels of information that compels closer investigation and increasing layers of information until one is close enough to be engrossed. There is literally so much to see that one never seems to see everything and repeated viewing is necessary.

I have spent considerable mental energy in the creation of these paintings and drawings to balance visual elements so that they interact to express energy but not anxiety. I would expect these works to provide many years of inspiration, delight and discovery. Let the sun illuminate the surface and each work will reveal new qualities that change with the change of available light."
