Born in Wuerzburg, Bavaria, Germany

1987-1990, studies with Hitoshi Kobayashi in Tokyo, Japan, and ongoing

" 'Make important free space' was my teachers' daily saying, when I tried to master sumi-e. A Japanese ink painting lives as much from what one brushes on a piece of paper as from the free space surrounding the strokes. Together both elements join forces to create serene, peaceful art. Art that fascinates, because not only the artist but also the onlooker’s inspiration is challenged.

Trying to recreate this experience with acrylic paint, I face a daily renewing and rewarding challenge."
