Born: 1937, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Brought up in Uzbekistan and started to study art in Tashkent.

In 1959, entered Moscow Art Institute named after Sourikov, the placard class.

Studied with Mikhail Cheremnykh and Nicholai Ponomarev

In 1964, became a member of the USSR Artists' Union, Moscow section.

Lived and worked in Kamchatka until 1971.

In 1970, became a member of the USSR Academy of Art and started to master etching.

Chairman of the Easel Painting Association (Moscow Artists' Union) from 1991 to 1993.

Current member of the Russian Academy of Art and a director of Krasnoyarsk Art Institute.
"Some of my works were inspired by my trips to the tundra in the winter period when I lived in Kamchatka."
